Since September 2017 Rosyth Methodist Church has been part of the Forth Valley Circuit, which combines what were previously the Edinburgh and Forth Circuit and the Central Scotland Circuit. The new Circuit, whose Superintendent Minister is the Rev Eddie Sykes, covers Edinburgh, Fife, the Lothians, the Scottish Borders and Stirlingshire, and our 11 churches are part of the Methodist Church in Scotland.

Regular activities

During the week Rosyth Methodist Church is the venue for a number of organisations serving both the Church and the wider community. The timings for these are on our Regular activities page, and contact information for the people who run them can be found in the current issue of Contact, the newsletter of the partnership, which can be viewed on-line or downloaded at the link on the Our magazine page.

Worship

Our worship services are varied and include communion once a month (usually on the 4th Sunday of the month). The communion service is a joint communion service with our partner congregation, St Margaret’s Episcopal Church, led alternatively by one of our ministers or by one of the Episcopal clergy, usually using the Methodist Worship Book.

The first part of the service is designed for all ages and then there are separate activities for young folk each week (except for the second Sunday of the month when the entire service is suitable for all ages).

You are warmly invited to coffee in the Crush Hall after the morning service every Sunday.

Also on the 1st Sunday of the month we meet at 6.00pm for Sunday@Six, informal worship led by lay members from both congregations, and we hope to extend participation to the wider local community.

There are occasional variations in this pattern of worship, and other services are held at appropriate times of the year, especially at Christmas, so we encourage you to click this link for details, or use the “What’s on” tab.

Music

The music within our services is varied and we sing hymns from a variety of sources, both traditional and contemporary.

Giving

As well as financially supporting the Forth Valley Circuit (which provides our ministers and pays all related expenses) we also support other charities on a regular basis. Rosyth Methodist Church is a registered charity and as such donations can be covered by the Gift Aid scheme.
