Testimony ServiceTestimony Service Testimony Service for Deacon Elizabeth Harfleet at 7.00pm in City of Edinburgh Methodist Church. As Elizabeth has written for the next Contact “The Testimony Service, which precedes ordination, is an opportunity for members of the particular Methodist District to meet together to worship God and to celebrate what God has done in the life of ‘their’ probationer. The service is also an opportunity to reflect on God’s specific call on everyone’s life.” Elizabeth deserves our support, so please do come if you can and share with her this memorable occasion.

RSCM Scotland Triennial FestivalRSCM Scotland Triennial Festival This will be directed by Matthew Beetschen, Director of Music at Dunfermline Abbey, who is the former Chair of RSCM Scotland. RSCM have said that it would be lovely to see many choirs or individuals join them in Dundee. Details of rehearsals will be made available nearer the time. Whether you are in the choir or not, but just enjoy the chance to sing with other people, do come along. Why not plan to go along to Dunfermline Abbey on 10 February (see our diary entry) to find out for yourself why we thoroughly recommend these events, and buy a copy of the Festival music book, which will be available then. See also the RSCM Scotland website. St Andrew's RC Cathedral, Dundee 150 Nethergate Dundee, DD1 4EA |

Solas 18Solas 18 N/A Solas is a festival, yes, but it’s not just about the music (although there’s a wide variety of that) – there are plenty of other arts represented, as well as seminars, speakers and things you’ve never even thought of. You’ll find explorations of politics, faith and culture, with strong themes of equality and justice running throughout. It’s in a field (so there might be a bit of mud if it rains), but it also has some events indoors, and although camping is an option it’s only an hour down the road, just outside Perth, so it’s easy to go for the day and there are plenty of accommodation options nearby if you’d like a proper bed. It’s a small, family friendly festival (tickets are free for 0-11s) and the Methodist Church in Scotland are long term partners of the event. So whether you think of yourself as a festival goer or not, why not give Solas a go.It runs from Friday 22 June to Sunday 24 June, with all day events.
