Said Eucharist

28 March 2021

Palm Sunday

Very Rev Kenny Rathband

Our readings are: Isaiah 50.4–9; Philippians 2.5–11; Mark 15.1–39
The reading of the Passion narrative takes the place of a homily.

This is the first in our 2021 series of fortnightly COVID-compliant eucharist services in the church. It will be a short service (around 40 minutes), and there will be no hymns, no physical contact during the Peace, and just the bread given to you as you take a socially-distanced communion. but we hope that you will find blessing from this time of worship as we gather in person.

Due to COVID restrictions there will be no procession to collect Palm Crosses, but you will find one on the chair with your pew sheet.

Please note that, for the time being, as we work through the practicalities of worshipping together in a COVID-secure way, we’re asking everyone who intends to attend worship to contact Sandra Young beforehand.

Holy Communion

4 April 2021

Easter Sunday

Rev Eddie Sykes

This is the first of our 2021 series of fortnightly Methodist services in the church, and will be a short (approx. 30 minutes) service of Holy Communion.

Due to current Covid restrictions the way the bread and cup will be served will be very different to the way we are used to. For example: the elements will be brought to you in your seats so there is the minimal amount of movement in the worship area. The process will be explained more fully in the service.

Please note that, as we work through the practicalities of worshipping together in a COVID-secure way, we’ll still be asking everyone who intends to attend worship to email either David Salthouse or Eddie Sykes by 6:00pm on the Saturday before (3 April).

The Lectionary readings for the day are
Acts 10.34–43 or Isaiah 25.6–9; Psalm 118.1–2,14–24; 1 Corinthians 15.1–11 or
Acts 10.34–43; John 20.1–18; Mark 16.1–8
