Today we are back to weekly worship at 9.30am and our service is led by Alan Taylor
Our readings are: Genesis 2.18-24; Hebrews 1.1-4, 2.5-12; Mark 10.2-16
Even though we are at a level described as ‘Beyond Level 0’ in Scotland, we are encouraged to keep to the Covid protocols of hand sanitizing, wearing of facemasks, good ventilation, trace and track, and, 1 metre social distancing in church. We continue to sing hymns ( wearing masks) and ae ed by the choir, there is no physical contact during the Peace, and just the bread given to you as you take a socially-distanced communion. but we hope that you will find blessing from this time of worship as we gather in person.

This is the last in a series of studies that has taken us through the Book of Hebrews. This week our study of Hebrews 13:18–25 has the title “Final Greetings and Conclusion ”. Our study will be facilitated by Rev Eddie Sykes, who will be providing study notes before the session. You can catch up on earlier topics in this post.

The 28th Sunday in Ordinary Time

This morning our covid-compliant service of Methodist Morning Worship in the church includes Holy Communion. The service will include a warm welcome to those new members who have joined from the former Kirkcaldy Methodist Church. It will also include a short history of the beginnings of the Methodist work which began in Kirkcaldy – an inspiring story.

Gathering: Bishop Ian has asked each Area Council to hold a “mini-gathering". The date set for St Andrews West Council event is Saturday 23 October, at St. Peter’s, Kirkcaldy, 10am for 10:30am finishing with a service at 3pm. The plan is to hold an opening and a closing worship and there will be workshops/presentations about the response of the church in relation to Climate Change and Pilgrimage (next year is the year of pilgrimage), both very relevant topics. Speakers will be provided by the diocese. Participants will have the opportunity to attend both presentations - one before lunch and one after. Lunch will be “bring your own” because of Covid restrictions. If you would like to attend please complete an application form and return it by 16 October to Rev Canon Christine Fraser

At 10:30am we meet in partnership with our Methodist friends.

While there is now plenty of room, we still have Test and Protect obligations, so will need to record your attendance, and ask for contact details if we don’t already have them. However, we are no longer asking you to pre-register for services – just turn up for a warm welcome!
