Rosyth Methodist Church was packed on Sunday 18 October for a joint service led by the Most Reverend David Chillingworth, Bishop of St Andrews, Dunkeld and Dunblane, and the Reverend Dr David Easton, Chair of the Synod of the Methodist Church in Scotland, and introduced by the Reverend Alison Cozens, Rector of St Margaret’s and Holy Trinity, Dunfermline. This was only the second time that the two leaders of our respective churches had jointly taken a service at Rosyth, and the first time that the partnership had been joined by the congregation of Holy Trinity.

Members of all three churches took part in the service and sang in the choir, and on a very special occasion we acknowledged and celebrated the many ways in which our congregations and their members work together both formally and informally and the many friendships that have been formed over the years.

The order of service (which can be downloaded at this link) included interviews with members of the congregation following Bishop David’s visit to Rosyth on 7 October, and his reflection on moving out into the community, which you can listen to here:

David Easton preached a sermon based on our Gospel reading of Mark 6:30–44. Do listen to his message, and ask yourself his final question: “What miracles of grace are we willing to allow Christ to work through us today?”:
